Ancient Greek

The assignment is to build a temple to the gods using design concepts of the ancient Greeks and Romans. The challenge is to use limited resources provided, as did the Greeks and Romans, and still create structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing architecture. This year’s creations were outstanding and remained on display in the Media Center.

Latin I

In this lesson, conducted in the Media Center, students are learning the geography of ancient Italy and the Mediterranean. Students kinesthetically identify geographic features of Italy, including the Apennines, the Tiber River, Rome, Vesuvius, and Carthage in North Africa. Once Italy is physically colonized, and its geography is kinesthetically occupied, student “tribes” compete for available land, and engage in the inevitable conflict for land that the ancient world produced.
