STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

  • Assignments will be completed in blue or black ink following the format proposed by the English department. Any assignment which is not completed in ink will not be accepted until it meets this guideline.

  • In order to complete assignments missed due to an absence, the student must verify their legal absence with a pass from the attendance office within two (2) days.

  • Journals or notes of reading assignments are to be maintained by each student. Students are also expected to compile class notes to help them in preparation for tests and quizzes. It is recommended that each student use a three-ring binder to organize all their materials.

  • All students are expected to complete and turn-in their own work. If a student fails to maintain academic integrity by cheating then measures will be taken to help the student develop improved character traits. After the first offense, the student(s) involved will receive no credit for that assignment. Any subsequent offenses will entail a student-parent-teacher conference to remedy the deficiency.

  • All students' work will be kept on file in the classroom until the end of the marking period. Students may have access to their files at any time for review or reference.
  • Student may access their grades at anytime at www.eclassinfo.com.

  • Students are expected to follow current events by watching the daily newscasts, reading newspapers and news magazines. Class discussions will be used to evaluate one's knowledge of current events.

  • Daily attendance is expected of each student. A direct correlation of attendance with achievement exists on the high school level. Interacting with the teacher and other students is an invaluable tool for education.
