Community Service

Individual schools will develop partnerships with parents, community members, and businesses that directly support and guide our educational goals. Working together, we will ensure that all students develop the skills and abilities necessary to be self-sufficient and contributing members of the community. (Frederick County Public Schools Goal 5)
The State Board of Education passed a student service graduation requirement on July 29, 1992. Frederick County Public Schools have implemented the "infusion model" whereby students complete their 75 hours of service through an incorporated process linked academically with course material. The required elements of preparation and reflection will be completed in the classroom.

Student's in Mr. Puch's classes are required to complete two (2) hours of community service, document the project, and produce a written reflection. Independent projects in the past included youth coaching, tutoring, nursery day care, teacher aiding, etc.
