All schools will promote a healthy and inviting school climate in which all
members of the school community understand and practice the systemís established
core values. These values are guided by respect for others and personal responsibility.
(Frederick County Public Schools Goal 2)
- Students are expected to come to class prepared with
materials as directed by their teacher.
- Homework is expected to be turned in the day it is due.
Late assignments will not be accepted.
- Students absent for a school-related activity are expected
to turn in assignments before leaving class and to be prepared for the following
day's instruction.
- Make-up work for whatever reason or length of absence,
must be handled in a timely fashion. Accordingly, you will have 2 days to contact
the teacher, before or after class, to set a mutually convenient time to make up
the work. Failure to contact the teacher within the specified time will mean the
work will not be accepted for credit. Students will not be permitted to use class
instructional time for make-up work.
- Term papers and other such long term projects are due
on or before the date set for the class. No late papers will be accepted. This means
papers are due by the set date, whether or not you are in school that day.
- Behavior which provides a good learning environment
will be expected of each student. Interrupting class, throwing objects, boisterous
activity, and the infringement of everyone's right to an education will not be tolerated.
The Social Studies department will follow the school's progression discipline policy
regarding tardiness, disruptive behavior, and other infractions.
- Extra credit assignments are not given and will not
be accepted.
- Because of the extended break between classes in a four
period day, there will be no need for restroom passes during the class period. Emergencies
will be the exception to this rule.
- Snacks or beverages will not be permitted in class except
under the direct supervision of the teacher.
